Between one and two
thousand languages are spoken on the African continent. In order to
understand contemporary African societies it is vital to understand the
complex language situation and its consequences in Africa.
Our courses focus on providing insights into the
language situation in the African countries, as well as providing
skills in describing and analysing individual African languages. We can
not offer language courses at the moment. Our activities include mainly
research and graduate courses.
