FEDERATION OF ARAB REPUBLICS
The Federation of Arab Republics was created in January 1972 by Libya, Egypt and Syria (in the Middle East). It was dissolved five years later, in March 1977.
(Egypt and Syria had tried a union earlier. In 1958, they had formed the Union of Arab Republics which lasted for approximately three years.)
