The League of Nations was created in june 1916. Only a few African countries, those that were not colonized, were members.
The map shows their admission dates. Dates in parentheses refer to areas administered by European countries (ie. Canary Islands, Réunion and St Helena).
In April 1945, the League of Nations became the United Nations (UN).
